Nessa Barrett Takes Care of Toronto on the Aftercare Tour

Despite the super cold weather Toronto was facing, when I arrived at the venue there was a line around the building and fans who had been in line for hours! The Nessa Barrett fans were all dressed up for what I was sure would be an incredible show.

The stage was set for an unforgettable night of music which was started off by artist Ari Abdul. She set the tone for the night with a performance that was not only captivating but so energy filled. The crowd absolutely adored her from the second she stepped on stage, and while her set was only half an hour it was one that was sure to stick in my head!!

Now came the moment everyone was waiting for…. Nessa Barrett. The lights dimmed, and crowd cheers rose. The moment she stepped up to the mic and started with song “S.L.U.T”, everyone in the crowd began singing along. Nessa’s setlist was full of new songs from her latest album release “Aftercare”, as well as a good mix of older, fan favourites. The stage set was simple but I think it was perfect and helped Nessa stand out and really command the crowd.

Closing the night with “Aftercare”, the title track from her newest album, was a beautiful choice. This show really showed me her growth as an artist and a performer and I was so pleasantly surprised. There was so much vulnerability and power in her performance, I can truly say I was impressed.

If you’re able to catch a date on the “Aftercare” tour, I highly recommend doing so!
