Sam Hunt‘s Locked Up Tour brought an exciting mix of country and pop to Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on September 18. Known for blending genres seamlessly, Hunt performed a collection of hits from his earlier albums Montevallo and Southside, along with new tracks from his latest Locked Up EP.

The mood was set early as thousands of fans, dressed in cowboy boots & hats, and Hunt’s tour merch, filled the arena. The show featured support from American country singer-songwriters Dalton Dover and Russell Dickerson, who got the crowd going right away with their energy.

Fans were treated to Hunt‘s laid-back stage presence as he engaged the audience. Hunt‘s ability to seamlessly blend country storytelling with pop rhythms took center stage. His unique fusion of genres on full display. Tracks like “Body Like a Back Road” and “Kinfolks” showcased his Southside material, while day-one hits like “Take Your Time”-the 1st song he ever wrote- and “House Party” brought nostalgia to the forefront. This diverse setlist offered something for everyone, from die-hard country fans to pop enthusiasts. Each song felt like a well-crafted chapter in a larger story, with emotional ballads leading into high-energy anthems.

Highlights included a walk through the arena floor during “House Party,” and the acoustic part of his set, where he performed “Cop Car” a song he wrote about a date with a girl that ended up in the back of a police car. 10 years later, he married his date.
The last 4 songs of theshow were hits after hits, “Body Like A Back Road,” “Break Up In A Small Town,” “Ex To See,” and “Leave The Night On.” The fans sang along all night, shout-out to the 10 year old girl behind who knew every lyrics and kept yelling “Sam Hunt!” between each song. She made everyone in our section smile the entire time.

Throughout the evening, Hunt showed why he’s considered one of the top performers in country music today. His ability to connect with the audience, paired with the show’s high production values, created an unforgettable concert experience. Hunt‘s vocals were on point, and the setlist felt well-paced, leaving fans cheering for more by the end of the night.

Overall, the Vancouver stop of the Locked Up Tour delivered on both music and atmosphere, proving that Sam Hunt remains a favourite for country-pop crossover fans.
