Billy Idol Debuts New Single “77” Featuring Avril Lavigne
Rock legend Billy Idol is debuting the new single “77” featuring Avril Lavigne from his forthcoming album Dream Into It (due April 25 via Dark Horse Records). The track is accompanied by a Spencer Ramsey-directed animated video; watch/share the video HERE. Idol will be joined by Lavigne for a performance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on April 28.
Dream Into Itis Idol’s first full-length album of new music in over a decade and includes co-writing and performance credits throughout from Idol’s longtime guitarist/collaborator Steve Stevens. The album is produced by Tommy English (Kacey Musgraves, blink 182, BØRNS, K. Flay) and includes appearances by Lavigne, Joan Jett and Alison Mosshart of The Kills. Alongside the upcoming album, Idol and Stevens were recently nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025, with inductees to be announced soon. Idol is also set for the premiere of the new documentary film Billy Idol Should Be Dead at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 10. Directed by three-time Grammy-winner Jonas Åkerlund, Billy Idol Should Be Dead is a feature-length documentary tracing the life and career of the punk pioneer turned rock ‘n’ roll icon. Through never-before-seen archival and personal interviews with Idol, his family, peers and collaborators, the documentary digs deep into his emergence as a prototypical punk rocker, his meteoric rise as a global superstar in the MTV era and the myriad of challenges Idol had to overcome to not just survive, but to remain one of the most beloved figures in rock n roll, almost fifty years into his career. Additionally, Idol is returning to the road for It’s a Nice Day To…Tour Again! Fellow superstar Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will join Idol on all shows. Produced by Live Nation, the run of arenas and amphitheatres kicks off at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on April 30 and includes stops at an array of storied venues includingNew York’s Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD and more. i-dle Release New Single “Crow”

Alongside the album, Rodrigo released the official music video for new track “stupid song” out today. Directed by Mitch Ryan and shot in New York City, the video was choreographed by and features Prima Ballerina Tiler Peck and other dancers from the NYC Ballet and American Ballet Theater – watch here.

Last month, Rodrigo took the stage at Spotify’s Billions Club Live, celebrating the milestone of nine songs surpassing one billion streams each, cementing her place among the platform’s most-streamed artists. The concert film is available on the platform now. Rodrigo also performed a surprise live set at Primavera Sound, debuting her new song “what’s wrong with me” featuring Robert Smith of The Cure.
Rodrigo recently announced The Unraveled Tour kicking off in September, quickly selling out globally with over 1 million tickets sold, added stops due to demand, and breaking several venue records. The tour was originally announced with four dates in Brooklyn and quickly expanded to a massive 10-show residency at Barclays Center. Rodrigo also set the venue performance record at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome, bringing the total to an historic 10 dates, establishing a new venue benchmark.
