Billy Idol Debuts New Single “77” Featuring Avril Lavigne
Rock legend Billy Idol is debuting the new single “77” featuring Avril Lavigne from his forthcoming album Dream Into It (due April 25 via Dark Horse Records). The track is accompanied by a Spencer Ramsey-directed animated video; watch/share the video HERE. Idol will be joined by Lavigne for a performance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on April 28.
Dream Into Itis Idol’s first full-length album of new music in over a decade and includes co-writing and performance credits throughout from Idol’s longtime guitarist/collaborator Steve Stevens. The album is produced by Tommy English (Kacey Musgraves, blink 182, BØRNS, K. Flay) and includes appearances by Lavigne, Joan Jett and Alison Mosshart of The Kills. Alongside the upcoming album, Idol and Stevens were recently nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025, with inductees to be announced soon. Idol is also set for the premiere of the new documentary film Billy Idol Should Be Dead at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 10. Directed by three-time Grammy-winner Jonas Åkerlund, Billy Idol Should Be Dead is a feature-length documentary tracing the life and career of the punk pioneer turned rock ‘n’ roll icon. Through never-before-seen archival and personal interviews with Idol, his family, peers and collaborators, the documentary digs deep into his emergence as a prototypical punk rocker, his meteoric rise as a global superstar in the MTV era and the myriad of challenges Idol had to overcome to not just survive, but to remain one of the most beloved figures in rock n roll, almost fifty years into his career. Additionally, Idol is returning to the road for It’s a Nice Day To…Tour Again! Fellow superstar Joan Jett & the Blackhearts will join Idol on all shows. Produced by Live Nation, the run of arenas and amphitheatres kicks off at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on April 30 and includes stops at an array of storied venues includingNew York’s Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles’ Kia Forum, the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD and more. For You Fest Turns The Social Feed Into A Live Festival Experience
For You Fest turns the social feed into a live festival experience as the first large-scale festival built around creator culture. Fans can watch live podcast tapings, attend creator-led workshops, enjoy music and comedy performances, and meet the creators they follow online. The inaugural festival includes an all-star lineup including Quenlin Blackwell, Tana Mongeau, DJ Trixie Mattel, Trisha Paytas, Patrick Ta, Wisdom Kaye, Caleb Hearon, Drew Afualo, Meg Stalter, Owen Thiele, and more. For You Fest takes place November 14–15 at Great Park in Irvine, California. Línea Personal Takes “TODO Ø NADA” on the Road With First Headline Tour
Following recognition from Rolling Stone as one of música mexicana’s most exciting emerging acts and praise from the Los Angeles Times for their innovative blend of R&B and corridos, Línea Personal now brings that momentum to the stage with the announcement of its first U.S. headline tour. Kicking off their 16-stop run on August 7th in San Luis Obispo, CA, the run marks a major milestone for the Stockton, California quartet as they bring their acclaimed sophomore album, TODO Ø NADA, to audiences nationwide.
The Stockton, California quartet of Gustavo Raya Garcia, Aidan Raya Garcia, Jorge Ontiveros and Edgar Lozoya Verduzco has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting new voices in música mexicana. Known for blending corridos with R&B, soul and contemporary production, the band continues to push the genre forward while staying true to its roots.
