The Who Announce The Song Is Over – North America Farewell Tour

Today, one of the greatest bands in rock history, The Who, have announced their bittersweet final tour of the US and Canada as a truly grand finale of their illustrious six-decade career. Full tour routing and ticketing information is available below.
The legendary duo are revealing the news live during a press conference at the Iconic Images gallery in Piccadilly, London. Fans can tune in now (click here) to listen to Roger Daltrey & Pete Townshend discuss the 2025 series of dates, aptly titled The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour (named after the Who’s 1971 classic song).
The secret press conference in London is showcasing a rare piece of Who memorabilia and US connection, an American football helmet featured on the sleeve of their classic 1974 album, ‘Odds & Sods’ recently returned from the Rock n Roll Hall Of Fame.
Roger Daltrey says: “Every musician’s dream in the early 60’s was to make it big in the US charts. For the Who, that dream came true in 1967 and our lives were changed forever. The warmth of the American audiences over the years have been inspirational to me, and reflect the feeling I remember getting after hearing the first rock records coming across the radio. Musical freedom! Rock gave us a feeling of generational rebellion. To me, America has always been great. The cultural differences had a huge impact on me, this was the land of the possible. It’s not easy to end the big part of my life that touring with The Who has been. Thanks for being there for us and look forward to seeing you one last time.”
Pete Townshend says: “Well, all good things must come to an end. It is a poignant time. For me, playing to American audiences and those in Canada has always been incredible. The warmth and engagement of those audiences began back in 1967 with hippies smoking dope, sitting on their blankets and listening deeply and intensely. Music was everywhere. We all felt equal. Today, Roger and I still carry the banner for the late Keith Moon and John Entwistle and of course, all of our longtime Who fans. I must say that although the road has not always been enjoyable for me, it is usually easy: the best job I could ever have had. I keep coming back. Every time I do, I meet new fans and feel new energy. Roger and I are in a good place, despite our age, eager to throw our weight behind this fond farewell to all our faithful fans, and hopefully to new ones who might jump in to see what they have been missing for the last 57 years. This tour will be about fond memories, love and laughter. Make sure you join in.”
Tickets will be available starting with a Citi presale and through the Who Fan Club (details below) beginning on Tuesday, May 13. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning on Friday, May 16 at 10:00 AM local time at thewho.com/tour/.
Citi is the official card of The Who – The Song Is Over – North American Farewell Tour. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets in the U.S. beginning Tuesday, May 13 at 10:00 AM local time until Thursday, May 15 at 10:00 PM local time through the Citi Entertainment program. For complete presale details, visit www.citientertainment.com.
Join the Whooligan Fan Club exclusively here at to receive early ticket access, exclusive Whooligan merchandise, and a copy of the previously unreleased album, Live At The Oval 1971, one of The Who’s most legendary shows, which has been newly mixed and mastered from the original tapes.
The tour will also offer a variety of VIP packages and experiences for fans to take their concert experience to the next level. Packages vary but include premium tickets, access to pre-show soundcheck, invitation to the pre-show VIP Lounge, a limited edition autographed tour poster & more. VIP package contents vary based on the offer selected. For more information, visit vipnation.com.
One of popular music’s most influential and resilient pairings, Pete and Roger have rewritten the rulebook on what it means to be a world-changing live act throughout a sea of seismic shifts that would have put any other rock dyad on the mat. Townshend has commented on their high-performance standard, which has “risen out of the ashes of the halcyon years of rock ‘n’ roll.” That’s why it’s no surprise they’ve stacked some of the best reviews of any performing artists in the past decade. Variety raved “rock ’n’ roll’s greatest achievement…” about their previous American tour; evidence of their incredible staying power and a testament to an unparalleled repertoire of songs written by Townshend and sung by Daltrey with an attention to detail unmatched in the rock era.
Fans and critics continue to hail Pete and Roger’s ability to play the long game in music with passion and integrity like few before them. The historic 2025 The Song Is Over tour will mark the final face-to-face celebration of this timeless connection with North American Who fans, forever appreciative of the band’s ability to dispense with nostalgia and deliver authentic rock moments time and time again.
Further proof that the duo is still at the top of their game could be gleaned in a 2024 review of their performance at the Teenage Cancer Trust’s historic annual concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall, honoring the work of its founder, Roger Daltrey, who stepped down from his curatorial role after 24 years. One reviewer of the Who’s performance called it: “One of the most joyous bombastic concerts London’s magnificent Royal Albert Hall has ever seen…”
America’s love affair with The Who live began 58 years ago when the band were part of ‘Murray The K’s Music in the Fifth Dimension’, a series of showcase events at RKO’s 58th Street Theatre in New York over nine days in March and April 1967. The band played just three songs (‘Can’t Explain’, ‘Substitute’, ‘My Generation’), and other acts on the bill included Cream, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Simon & Garfunkel, and Wilson Pickett. Later that Summer, it was at the seminal Monterey International Pop Festival in California that they rose to prominence in a defining moment of the Summer Of Love. Two years later, The Who were once again front and center at the most famous festival of the ’60s, Woodstock, performing an incendiary set in the early hours of August 17th, 1969.
The Who continued to thrill US fans throughout the 1970s before undertaking their first ‘farewell’ tour in 1982, which featured two shows at the legendary Shea Stadium in New York. When the band returned to the road in the late 1990s and early 2000s perhaps one of their greatest performances was at The Concert For New York City at Madison Square Garden shortly after the terror attack of 9/11, their three-song set in front of emergency workers and first responders was met with a primal roar from an audience. When Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey were given the Kennedy Center Honors in December 2008 for their contributions to American culture, a tribute performance of “Baba O’Riley” was delivered with a full choir of New York firefighters in gratitude for The Who’s performance at the show.

Whitcomb – who recently stole the show at Indio, CA’s Stagecoach with a fully packed Palomino Stage performance – is fast proving himself as one of the hardest working live acts in music today on a busy schedule that includes his Fragile Egos Tour, an ongoing run of North American headline shows produced by Live Nation resuming June 2 at Detroit, MI’s SOLD-OUT Saint Andrew’s Hall following SOLD-OUT stops at such notable venues as Boston, MA’s Citizens House of Blues Boston, New York City’s historic Irving Plaza, Charlottesville, VA’s The Jefferson Theatre, and more. Meanwhile, Whitcomb is currently traveling Down Under on a long anticipated headline tour of Australia and New Zealand, with all dates now sold out including additional shows added in some markets due to overwhelming demand.
As if all that weren’t enough, Whitcomb will also continue to support HARDY on THE COUNTRY! COUNTRY! TOUR!, with dates set across the US and Canada into the summer. A number of top-billed festival performances are also slated, including Fergus, ON’s Meadows Music Festival (May 29), Vancouver, BC’s FIFA Fan Festival (June 14), Bloomington, IL’s Tailgate N’ Tallboys (June 20), Dauphin, MB’s Dauphin’s Countryfest (June 27), Fort McMurray, AB’s Hello Summer Festival (July 5), Craven, SK’s Country Thunder Saskatchewan (July 11), Three Forks, MT’s Headwaters Country Jam (July 23), Chicago, IL’s Lollapalooza (August 1), Camrose, AB’s Big Valley Jamboree (August 2), and more.
Whitcomb’s non-stop tour schedule follows the recent arrival of his acclaimed new EP, Deep Water, available now via Atlantic Outpost HERE. Limited edition CDs will arrive soon with pre-orders open now HERE. Born from a renewed obsession with the craft of songwriting, the 5-song project is highlighted by the explosive single, “Kingdom of Fear,” available HERE alongside an official lyric video streaming now HERE. The high-octane track – which Billboardpraised as “an emotionally charged folk-rock song fronted by Whitcomb’s raw, gritty vocals and a fervent guitar” – has fast proven a sensation, marking the Nanaimo, BC native’s highest-charting song to date in the US, Australia, the UK, and his home country of Canada while also landing as his second consecutive instant debut on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. Next week will see Whitcomb perform “Kingdom of Fear” with American Idol finalist Brooks Rosser on the Season 24 Finale, airing live Monday, May 11 at 8:00 pm (ET) on ABC and Disney+.
Deep Water also includes the dynamic title track, “Deep Water,” joined by an official live performance video streaming now on YouTube HERE. Filmed on stage at Boston, MA’s sold-out Citizens House of Blues Boston, the new visual captures Whitcomb’s unstoppable live energy in front of the more than 2,700 enraptured fans – the biggest solo headline show of his career to date. The EP is further highlighted by the tender “You and Me,” available now HERE. Hailed by Billboard as “an emotional, heartfelt folk-rock song characterized by his soft, weathered vocals and a stomp-clap rhythm,” the track immediately debuted on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 upon its March arrival.
Whitcomb was among the most triumphant stars at Canada’s 55th Annual JUNO Awards earlier this year, taking home both “Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year Presented by FACTOR, the Government of Canada and Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters,” and “Country Album of the Year” (for his critically acclaimed debut album, The Hard Way). Along with accepting the two prestigious honors – which follow an additional pair of recent wins at the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA) – Whitcomb delivered an electrifying performance of his hit “Options,” capped off by an unforgettable backflip on the catwalk which quickly went viral following the star-studded event.
Whitcomb kicked off what’s rapidly proving a landmark 2026 with “All Your’n (Amazon Music Original)” an Amazon Music Original cover of the Tyler Childers fan favorite available to stream and purchase now exclusively on Amazon Music. An official live performance video can be viewed now via YouTube HERE.
Last year saw Whitcomb take a giant step forward with his acclaimed debut album, The Hard Way, joined by an expanded Deluxe Edition available now via Atlantic Records HERE. The album debuted at #1 on the Country Albums chart in Whitcomb’s home country of Canada, earning Gold certification and quickly surpassing 500 million streams nationwide thanks to such emotionally raw singles as the breakout fan favorite “Quitter,” the brutally self-aware “Hundred Mile High,” the defiant “Options,” the hopeful “Fragile,” the gut-punching title track, and the chart-climbing hit, “Medusa, the latter joined by a live performance video streaming HERE. A deeply personal look at Whitcomb’s turbulent journey – from early struggles with addiction to his remarkable recovery and personal growth – The Hard Way is further anchored by the powerful “Call For You,” written as a tribute to his mom. The Deluxe Edition adds five very special bonus tracks, including “End of the Morning,” a previously unheard collaboration with indie folk artist Evan Honer, as well as the standout track, “Problem,” joined by an exclusive “Amazon Music presents” live performance video streaming HERE.
With over 7.5M monthly listeners on Spotify, 4.5M+ followers across social platforms, and over 835M+ global streams to date, Whitcomb is riding high after what truly proved a landmark 2025 for the Nanaimo, BC-based artist. Named the 2025 recipient of CMA’s Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award, recognizing outstanding achievements by a Country Music artist who is originally based internationally, Whitcomb was among the big winners at the 2025 Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA), taking home the “Breakthrough Artist of the Year” and “Fans’ Choice” awards amidst six total nominations. Whitcomb also made his Canadian TV debut at the CCMA Awards with an energetic live performance of “Quitter,” streaming HERE.
In a world that often prizes surface-level honesty, Whitcomb stands out as an artist with the courage to confront uncomfortable truths. After leaving home at age 17 to work on a pipeline, the British Columbia native discovered his passion for singing and devoted himself to music. He broke through with his 2024 debut EP, Quitter – a fearless collection of country/folk songs inspired by his journey through addiction and recovery. Since then, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter has skyrocketed, landing on 2025 Artist to Watch lists from Spotify and Amazon Music, releasing his full-length debut, The Hard Way, and traveling the world on increasingly popular tours including his biggest North American headline run thus far, the I’ve Got Options Tour, which saw him packing houses from coast-to-coast including a sold-out two-night stand at Los Angeles, CA’s iconic Troubadour.

Hayley Williams is a 3x GRAMMY winning singer, songwriter and musician best known for her role as the frontperson of legendary rock band Paramore. With her incredible range and delivery, Billboard ranked her at #13 on their list of 50 Greatest Rock Singers of All Times saying, “when it comes to singers in contemporary rock, Hayley Williams reigns supreme.” Frequently listed as a source of inspiration from contemporary performers as varied as Chappell Roan, Doechii and Billie Eilish – she’s also appeared on a wide variety of albums and singles as a collaborator and guest vocalist including Turnstile’s latest “Seein’ Stars”, Moses Sumney’s “I Like It I Like It,” and Taylor Swift’s “Castles Crumbling.” Swift went on to have Paramore open the first ever The Eras Tourshow that debuted in Arizona and later they went on to open all dates on the European leg of her world tour.
At just 16 she brought Paramore to the masses with the release of their album All We Know Is Falling which was certified Gold and just celebrated its 20 year anniversary last week. The band’s breakthrough came with 2007’s Riot!, powered by the success of the 6X certified platinum single “Misery Business.” In 2009, Brand New Eyes solidified their place in the rock landscape. Paramore’s self-titled 2013 album marked a commercial and critical peak, with the platinum single “Ain’t It Fun” earning Paramore their first Grammy win for ‘Best Rock Song’ in 2015 and further nominations for ‘Best Rock Album.’ 2017’s After Laughter introduced a polished, ‘pop-influenced sound that continued to attract acclaim with the breakout single “Hard Times.” After a long hiatus, in 2023, they returned with This Is Why, a full grown, alternative-leaning record that earned the band two Grammy wins for ‘Best Alternative Song’ and ‘Best Rock Album’ making Paramore the first female-fronted rock band to ever win the category in its 31-year history.
At last year’s 68th annual GRAMMY’s, Hayley Williams racked up an impressive four nominations for Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party. Her album was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album, with nominations for songs “Parachute” in the Best Alternative Music Performance category, “Mirtazapine” in the Best Rock Performance category, and “Glum” in the Best Rock Song category. She has previously been nominated 5 times for her work in Paramore, with 3 wins including Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Performance in 2023. Ego Death is one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year and its success is even more impressive considering it was self-released on Williams’ newly created Post Atlantic Records (distributed by Secretly Distribution). On the same day the GRAMMY’S were announced, the final physical version of the record became available in stores worldwide. The completed album includes 20 songs.
