On May 27, Vancouver played host to the final date of the highly anticipated Will They or Won’t They Tour, featuring two of Canada’s most beloved entertainers, Jann Arden and Rick Mercer. The event was a fitting conclusion to a nationwide journey that showcased the dynamic chemistry between the celebrated singer-songwriter and the iconic comedian.
The audience eagerly awaited the arrival of Arden and Mercer. Known for their spontaneous and unfiltered styles, the duo did not disappoint. The evening was an unscripted delight, filled with laughter, poignant stories, and a palpable sense of camaraderie.
Jann Arden, with her trademark wit and warmth, captivated the audience with anecdotes from her illustrious career. She shared insights into her life as a musician, actor, and author, reflecting on her journey with humor and heart. Highlights included tales from her hit comedy series “JANN” and her recent literary work, much to the audience’s delight.
Rick Mercer, the master of political satire, brought his sharp comedic edge to the stage. His stories from the “Rick Mercer Report” and “This Hour Has 22 Minutes” had the crowd in stitches, while his reflections on Canadian culture and politics were both insightful and entertaining. Mercer‘s ability to blend humor with keen observations was on full display, solidifying his reputation as one of Canada’s foremost humorists.
Together, Arden and Mercer created a seamless blend of storytelling and banter, their natural rapport evident throughout the evening. The unscripted nature of the event allowed for spontaneous moments that felt both intimate and engaging, making the audience feel like part of an exclusive conversation.

Goose Brings their ‘Summer Tour’ to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver
Goose brought their 2026 Summer Tour to Vancouver on Tuesday night, turning the Commodore Ballroom into a sweaty, late-night dance party that stretched well past 11 p.m.
The Connecticut-based quartet — Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, Trevor Weekz and drummer Cotter Ellis — has built a reputation for letting songs breathe onstage, and Vancouver got the full treatment. The band played two sets and an encore, giving the crowd plenty of room to settle into the grooves and watch the songs take unexpected turns.
The first set opened with “Yeti” before moving through “All I Need,” “Turbulence & The Night Rays” and “Time to Flee.” “Everything Must Go” kept things moving before “Hungersite” closed the set with one of the night’s bigger stretches of improvisation.
After a break, Goose returned and launched into “Electric Avenue,” a crowd-pleasing choice that had the Commodore singing along.
There was little interest in rushing through the evening. Goose gave each section space, moving from tight grooves to loose instrumental passages without making the show feel like a collection of extended solos.
For a band coming off a European run and heading into some of its biggest U.S. shows, Vancouver felt like another strong stop on the way. The Commodore may be a much smaller room than Madison Square Garden or SPAC, but Goose seemed perfectly happy to stretch out inside it.

Chance The Rapper Brings ‘Coloring Book 10 Year Anniversary Tour’ to Montreal at MTelus
After 10 years since its release, Chance the Rapper is back on tour to celebrate his album Coloring Book! With Montreal being the 4th stop on the tour, many fans packed into Montreal’s MTELUS on August 15th, 2026, with no idea of what to expect.
First, the audience was thrilled by an energetic and upbeat performance by opener La Reezy. His quick lyrics and heavy instrumentals had no trouble in setting the tone for the night, specifically during “Gold Chains,” and with stellar crowd engagement during “We Live.”
Then, Chance the Rapper took the stage! With Coloring Book being such a staple in 2016, especially in the rap community, it is a daunting task to bring that nostalgic energy back on stage. But, with a 24-song setlist, Chance does just that. Unsurprisingly, half the setlist features songs from Coloring Book, with the set opening with “All We Got,” and closing with “Same Drugs,” featuring a confetti-filled performance of “No Problem” in the middle. However, Chance doesn’t shy away from performing a few hits from his other albums as well, such as “Link Me In The Future” from STAR LINE, and some older work in Acid Rap.
Overall, there is something powerful about hearing these songs a decade later. The themes stay the same, yet as both the artist and audience grow, there’s new meanings and emotions to be found in the lyrics. The anniversary show felt like a reunion for those who grew up with Coloring Book, and that’s what ultimately makes this tour a success.
