Alexandra Stréliski has over 375 million streams worldwide, eight Félix Awards, a JUNO Award, double platinum and gold certified albums, over 100,000 concert tickets sold, and more. The phenomenal success of Alexandra Stréliski’s third album since its release in March 2023 can’t be ignored. Néo-Romance earned a spot on the Polaris Music Prize Long List, and became one of the most-nominated albums at the Gala de l’ADISQ, winning Female Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year – International Reach, and Album of the Year – Instrumental Music. Grammy-winning artist Allison Russell is a master storyteller, weaving tales through her music. Allison is nominated for Music Video of the Year, Contemporary Roots Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for The Returner. In just three years since her debut solo album, this self-taught singer, songwriter, poet, activist and multi-instrumentalist has redefined 21st-century artistry. From her poignant celebration of survivors’ joy on Outside Child to the soul-stirring expression of Black liberation on The Returner, Russell’s music surpasses all expectations, solidifying her as one of today’s most essential artists. Her accolades include a Grammy win for Best American Roots Performance for her powerful single “Eve was Black”,  a JUNO Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year, the Americana Music Association’s 2023 Spirit of Americana Award & 2022 Album of the Year Award, two International Folk Music Awards, three Canadian Folk Music Awards, and four UK Americana Music Awards.

Aysanabee has swiftly risen from releasing his debut album, Watin, to arriving centre stage in his career. Making history as the first Indigenous artist to top Canadian Alternative Rock Radio and performing at the Polaris Music Prize Gala, he has transitioned from an unsigned artist to an internationally touring, award-winning sensation. Notable achievements include a 2023 JUNO Award nomination for Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year, three Indigenous Music Awards, a Jim Beam Indie Award, and a Folk Music Ontario Award for Recording Artist of the Year. Now, with his new EP, Here and Now, Aysanabee embarks on a different path. While still roped in the preservation of his grandfather’s stories, he explores personal themes of love and self-reflection. Aysanabee racks up 3 nominations for the 2024 JUNO Awards including Songwriter of the Year, Alternative Album of the Year, and Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year for Here and Now

Elisapie breaks through with a nomination for Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year for the 2024 JUNOS. Since her first JUNO Award win in 2005 with Taima, her band at the time, Elisapie’s body of work has been frequently praised. Her 2018 album The Ballad of the Runaway Girlwas shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize, earned her numerous Félix Awards, and received a nomination at the JUNO Awards. Following this critically acclaimed album, Elisapie performed with the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal to the invitation of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, at the SummerStage Festival in New York City’s Central Park and in the NPR office for her own Tiny Desk Session, as well as in several venues and festivals locally and internationally. Elisapie recently released Inuktitut, her fourth solo record. On this album, the Inuk artist covers ten classic rock and pop songs translated into Inuktitut, her mother tongue.

Jeremy Dutcher, Photo Credit: Kirk Lisaj

MotewolonuwokJeremy Dutcher‘s latest opus,  heaves with dynamic orchestration and the inherent drama of grand piano, recalling a long line of artists who have turned the classical establishment on its head to deliver compositions that are doubly ecstatic and modern — luminaries such as Julius Eastman, Perfume Genius, Arthur Russell, Beverly Glenn-Copeland, and Merce Cunningham. More intimate and expansive than anything Dutcher has created before, Motewolonuwok hedges the line between storytelling and composition as both a transcendental protest record and an exploration of self. This is experimental pop as corrective medicine: a defiant, healing, and queer experience that fills any listener with power and wisdom. Jeremy is nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year Presented by Long & McQuade Musical Instruments.

These artists join previously announced performances from The Beaches, Charlotte  Cardin, Josh Ross, Karan Aujla, Nelly Furtado, TALK and this year’s Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee Maestro Fresh Wes, who will be honoured during a special moment presented by TD Bank Group.
