Ruby Waters Announces Her ‘What’s The Point’ North American Tour
JUNO Award-nominated alternative artist Ruby Waters is thrilled to announce her What’s The Point North American tour today. Starting with two nights in Victoria BC, the tour will take Waters across Canada and The U.S. this fall with stops in Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Chicago, Denver, Phoenix, Dallas, Nashville, Boston, and more, with the 29-date run coming to an end in Montreal, QC in November. Presale begins today, with the general onsale slated for Friday, May 10th.
The announcement comes off the heels of the release of Waters’ new song, “Sour Patch” last week, which once again showcases her unique musical style and highlights a blend of pounding beats and alternative melodies that promises to leave listeners craving more.
The track serves as a thrilling preview of what’s to come from Waters, as she gears up for the release of her highly anticipated debut album, What’s The Point on May 31st. Known for her electrifying performances and distinctive sound, Waters continues to push the boundaries of indie music, infusing each creation with her signature flair.
Diving deep introspectively on the new album, Waters has put together a collection of songs that gives listeners a ride in the passenger seat of her life, allowing for the visceral experience of all that Waters is-good times, sex, drugs, rock n roll, car rides, and everything in between.
Written over the past year and half, Waters rented a cabin and built a studio in it with some pals. The cabin is a special place for Waters and has been the birthplace for other songs she’s written, like the previously released “Harder” (2022) and “Open Arms” (2022). Recorded in Whistler, Squamish and Toronto, the album was produced by Sam Willows (The Beaches, MICO and previous bodies of Waters’ work), with tracks on it produced by Harper, TJ Whitlaw, and Mido. To celebrate the release of the album, Waters will be headlining the Danforth Music Hall on May 30th. For tickets and full list of tour dates, go to Waters’ website.
