Vancouver’s bbno$ Announces Baby’s Bonanza 2024 At The Malkin Bowl

Vancouver’s hip-hop artist bbno$ will be hosting a special hometown show at Malkin Bowl on May 26, under the banner of Baby’s Bonanza.

The lineup features Yung Gravy, Freddie Dredd, Jungle Bobby, Joost Klein, and Eric Reprid. Rain or shine, all proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.

bbno$ has been incredibly prolific since gaining attention as a Soundcloud rapper in the mid-2010s. Over the past six years, he has released eight full-length albums, starting with 2018’s BB Steps, along with numerous EPs and hit singles like “Lalala” with Y2K and “Edamame”.

Music began as a hobby for bbno$, a former competitive swimmer who initially aspired to become a chiropractor after a serious back injury. During his time at UBC, he began creating music in his spare moments, which eventually led to a successful full-time career. In a 2022 interview with Billboard, bbno$ discussed signing a five-album deal and his achievements in streaming, mentioning that his financial advisor had assured him of lifelong financial security. As a result, he outlined plans to establish a nonprofit organization in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside to address the opioid crisis.

In the meantime, bbno$’s commitment to giving back is evident through his support of the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.
