On November 17th, Alexander Stewart kicked off The Homecoming Tour in Vancouver at Fortune Sound Club.

Alex Sampson opened the show full of energy right off the bat. He had a truly magnetic and captivating presence that had the audience engaged throughout his entire performance. His set list included original songs like “Pretty Baby” and “If You Were My Girl” that people may recognize from his journey on America’s Got Talent. He also covered the radio hit “Taste” by Sabrina Carpenter, which had the whole crowd singing along. He ended his performance with his 2023 single “Blind” that got everyone energized for the headliner.

The star of the show, Alexander Stewart, came out looking happier than a kid in a candy shop. He was grinning from ear to ear and had a few very endearing giggle breaks during the first few songs. While he is known for his heartbreak anthems, you can tell he was unbelievably happy to be onstage performing in his home country.

At 25 years old, he already has a soulfulness and emotion in his voice that is beyond his years, which was shown in his performance of hits like “Leave Me In The Dark” and “Blame’s On Me,” which the whole crowd sang along to. His mesmerizing performance of “24 Hours” ended with an amazing guitar solo from his friend and bandmate, Flynn Tanner, that took us right into a stripped-down version of his Two Friends collaboration dance hit, “Wrong Way.”

The rest of his set also included “Aftermath” from his first EP, his first live performance of “All These Years,” an acoustic cover of Bruno Mars’s “When I Was Your Man” and even an unreleased song that people definitely need to look out for in the near future. The crowd’s highlight was his performance of “i wish you cheated” which took him off the stage and into the pit where he sang with the whole audience.
