Brass Camel at The Pearl in Vancouver, BC – Gallery
On May 3, Vancouver-based band Brass Camel brought their Over The Hump tour to The Pearl in Vancouver, BC. To accompany them for this Homecoming / Tour Finale Bash was fellow Vancouverite band Post Modern Connection.
If you’re unfamiliar with Brass Camel, their singular sound mashes together the diverse influences of prog, funk, blues rock and fusion then ties them together with the kind of neat bow only attained by five musicians who are gunning for glory on the same frequency. The band’s musicianship, songwriter and work ethic was on full display Friday night.
They have spent the last 2 months touring Canada in their van bringing their amazing energy to clubs and music venues so their show on Friday was tight and on point. Dressed in their sharp suits, the band shredded through many of their songs including tracks from their debut album Brass, released in 2022. They teased their upcoming album by performing a few new songs.
One of the night’s highlight was when they brought out the double-prong electric guitars. The crowd could not look away from their talent.
If you want to have one hell of a good time, you know who to see next! Brass Camel only has a few more shows left of the Over The Hump tour but I’m sure they’ll be back on the road soon.
