Gallery – Danny Brown at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC
On April 1st, American rapper Danny Brown brought his ‘Quaranta Tour’ to a sold-out Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC.
Up first were Bruiser Wolf and his amazing lyricism, and hyperpop artist Alice Longyu Gao, who got the crowd ready for the main act.
From the moment he hit the stage with “Quaranta,” the title track of his latest album, the energy was palpable. Dressed in his a long silver robe hiding a 70’s-style Canucks jersey, Brown exuded confidence and clarity, captivating the audience with his vocal dexterity and sharp lyrics.
Tracks like “Tantor” and “Ain’t My Concern” ignited the crowd, while “Dark Sword Angel” and “Monopoly” showcased Brown‘s intensity and growth as an artist. Paying homage to his collaboration with JPEGMAFIA, he delivered fierce covers of their hits, electrifying the venue.
Returning to his solo material, Brown delighted fans with favourites like “When It Rain” and “Dirty Laundry.” The night peaked with “Jenn’s Terrific Vacation,” culminating in demands for an encore. Closing with “Side B (Dope Song),” Brown left the audience wanting more, sealing the night as a triumphant success.
