Gallery – Odie Leigh at The Pearl in Vancouver, BC
This weekend, indie-folk artist from Louisiana, Odie Leigh, brought her ‘The Only Thing Worse Tour” to The Pearl in Vancouver, BC with special opener Sophia Petikas.
Leigh started her musical journey in 2020 during the quarantine and forged herself quite the path as a new star in folk music, partly via TikTok. Guided by the classic folk, blue and country music that floods the soundscape of South Louisiana, her songwriting reflects an earnest and fervent search for identity through the confusion of growing up culturally-adjacent in an area with so much history, tradition, and faults.
On a cold Sunday night, Odie Leigh captivated the crowd of the Pearl (an upgraded venue due to Leigh‘s popular demand!), with tracks from her latest EP release “The Only Thing Worse Than A Woman Who Lies Is A Girl Who’ll Tell Truths’.
Her engaging and inviting stage presence charmed the audience, and the authenticity of her lyrics brought relevancy and honesty that everyone could relate to.
