On March 22, Russian feminist protest and performance art group Pussy Riot brought their ‘Riot Days’ tour to The Pearl in Vancouver, BC.

Vancouver band WAIT//LESS opened the night with their punk sound and did not let up for their entire set.

Then in a powerful fusion of activism and artistry, the renowned feminist collective Pussy Riot took to the stage at The Pearl. Pussy Riot‘s current lineup consists of Maria (Masha) Alyokhina, Diana Burkot, Olga Borisova and Alina Petrova.
Through a dynamic blend of theatricality, mixed-media elements, and raw musical energy, they captivated the audience, challenging societal norms and advocating for change.
Despite the absence of a boisterous energy typically associated with concerts, the crowd was instead deeply focused on the performance, hanging onto every word and movement. As always with Pussy Riot, the message is what matters: “Freedom is actually something which everyone should fight for,” sais Alyokhina.

Described as punk opera, Pussy Riot‘s performance transcended mere entertainment, serving as a rallying cry for justice and equality. Their bold presence underscored the enduring power of art to provoke, inspire, and ignite social movements, especially in the current global potical climate. Significant part of this tour’s income goes to support Ukrainian Okhmatdyt children’s hospital and foundation.
