NEEDTOBREATHE at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC – Gallery
On October 9, NEEDTOBREATHE brought their Caves World Tour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC.
Electrofolk duo Tall Heights opened the night who shared songs from their four full length albums, including 2022 release Juniors, and their new album Softly Softly, out next week.
Then it was time for NEEDTOBREATHE. The band kicked off the show with the driving beats of “Great Night,” led by Josh Lovelace on keys and Randall Harris on drums. Frontman Bear Rinehart’s entrance was met with enthusiastic cheers as the band launched into “State I’m In” and “Don’t Bring That Trouble,” setting the tone for a high-energy evening.
The crowd quickly got involved, singing along and moving to the music, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the packed venue. The energy remained high throughout, but NEEDTOBREATHE also showcased their ability to dial things down with acoustic tracks highlighting their impeccable vocal harmonies.
One of the standout moments was “Wasting Time,” a song that allowed Lovelace to shine on the harmonica, bringing an old-school rock feel. Later, Rinehart’s powerful vocals and slide guitar work on “Washed by the Water” captivated the audience, especially as the band slowly built the song into a grand crescendo.
The main set wrapped up with “The Outsiders,” leaving the audience shouting in unison. The band returned for a rousing encore, closing with “Brother” and an acoustic version of “West Texas Wind,” a touching finale that left the crowd in awe.
