“Hello. I’m Orville Peck.”
As Orville and his band quietly took to the stage at UBC’s Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre in Vancouver, BC, they were met with roars of approval from the crowd. The stage was backlit with a setting sun and it’s shifting colors, giving the entire performance a 1950s county western soundstage sort of feel which matched the band’s retro western vibe including, of course, no shortage of tassles.

Peck, renowned for his loud stage presence and distinctive attire, leaned into the audience during his set. Dressed in black with barbed-wire motifs and topped with his iconic cowboy hat and mask, his charm was undeniable. A proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Orville Peck‘s concert was a moment of celebration and representation in country music, adding a poignant layer to the night.

Opening for Peck was Canadian singer, songwriter, and DJ Goldie Boutilier (who you might know as Kay from her features with Tiesto amd Steve Aoki).
