Tori Kelly at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC – Gallery
On September 23, Tori Kelly brought her Purple Skies Tour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC.
Rising British singer-songwriter, Maisy Kay, opened the night with her upbeat dance-pop melodies, setting an energetic tone. She performed tracks from her Metamorphosis EP as well as her most recent single “Love Is A God,” and a new unreleased song.
In the room, many of the fans present, including dedicated Toraays, have followed Tori Kelly from her YouTube cover days and American Idol appearance in 2010—prepared to welcome their favourite artist. Having tracked her career, they were excited to see the 31-year-old singer’s evolution with her latest self-titled album Tori. A young girl even handmade a sign that read “You’re my role model” to show the singer.
When Tori Kelly took the stage, the crowd erupted into applause. Dressed in purple pants and arm gloves, she kicked off the set with “thing u do” and “unbelievable,” instantly getting the audience on their feet.
With a minimalist stage setup, Kelly’s performance highlighted her voice, as she hit every high note without a hitch. Even backed by a full live band, her vocals remained the focal point. The setlist featured a mix of new tracks like “diamonds,” “spruce,” “high water,” and “shelter,” offering fans a taste of her most recent work.
Midway through the concert, Kelly took a break from the full-band sound for a more intimate segment. Armed with just her acoustic guitar, she invited the crowd to shout out requests. To wrap up the show, she closed with “alive if i die” and “missin’ u.”
Tori Kelly will continue her Purple Skies Tour on the road until early November. More info on tickets and tour dates here.
