NSL Vancouver Rise FC vs Halifax Tides FC

Vancouver Rise FC came from behind to snatch a 2-1 win over Halifax Tides FC on Wednesday night at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, BC. The midweek win bumps Vancouver to a 2-1-2 record, while Halifax is still chasing their first victory of the season.
Halifax struck first in the 15th minute. Forward Saorla Miller finished off a slick midfield build-up with a right-footed shot into the bottom corner, quieting the home crowd and putting the visitors up 1-0.
The Tides looked strong early, controlling possession and disrupting Vancouver’s rhythm through the first half-hour. But the home side grew into the match and flipped the momentum before the break.
Lisa Pechersky pulled Vancouver level in the 39th minute with a smart run and a low finish from close range. Just five minutes later, Mariah Lee rose to meet a cross from the right and buried a header to make it 2-1. The two quick goals stunned Halifax and gave Rise the lead going into halftime.
Vancouver stays in the top half of the table with ten points through five games. They host Calgary on Saturday, May 24.
Halifax heads into the break winless and will look to reset before facing Calgary Wild FC on June 5 at McMahon Stadium.
