Jack Johnson Announces SURFILMUSIC North American 2026 Tour

Multi-platinum recording artist Jack Johnson announces SURFILMUSIC Tour, a 43-date North American tour that will take Johnson and his band coast-to-coast next year. The tour marks Johnson’s long-awaited return to the road since 2022 and will celebrate a new era of music, film, and environmental connection rooted in his chart-topping catalogue, spanning over twenty years.
In support of the tour, Johnson has released a new single, “Hold On To The Light,” featuring Hermanos Gutiérrez, out today on all streaming platforms. The song offers an early glimpse into the forthcoming SURFILMUSIC soundtrack, scored by Jack Johnson and Hermanos Gutiérrez for a new film featuring Johnson set to debut next year.
SURFILMUSIC, a documentary chronicling Johnson’s evolution from surfer to filmmaker to world-renowned musician, weaves through the making of his iconic surf films Thicker Than Water (1999) and The September Sessions (2000). These classic films revealed Johnson’s artistic point of view through his lens and guitar, ultimately launching his music career.
The new film celebrates the lifelong friendships and ocean-driven community that shaped Johnson’s path, and features many of the surfers who appeared in the original films, including Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, and the Malloy Brothers. It also captures the shared spirit of exploration and creativity that continues to inspire his music and environmentalism today. Additional SURFILMUSIC documentary and soundtrack details will be announced next year. Watch the first trailer HERE.
For the soundtrack, Hermanos Gutiérrez, longtime admirers of Johnson’s music and surf films, joined him in the studio, where Johnson also reunited with producer Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys, Seu Jorge, Beck), who co-produced several of Johnson’s most beloved albums, including In Between Dreams and Sleep Through the Static. What began as a mutual appreciation quickly turned into a creative connection and friendship, resulting in a beautiful new song, “Hold On To The Light” and an original film score. Their collaboration will extend to the stage next summer and fall, with the brothers opening for Johnson on many of the dates.
Jack Johnson SURFILMUSIC Tour will head to North America’s most beautiful outdoor venues, from Merriweather Post Pavilion (June 26, Columbia, MD), Blossom Music Center (July 7, Cuyahoga Falls, OH), Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre (September 2–3, Greenwood Village, CO), The Gorge Amphitheatre (September 26, George, WA), McMenamins Edgefield Amphitheater (September 28, Troutdale, OR) and continue to California for evenings under the stars at the historic Greek Theatre (September 30 and October 1, Berkeley, CA), to the ocean at Santa Barbara Bowl (October 3 and 4, Santa Barbara, CA), and two unforgettable nights at the legendary Hollywood Bowl (October 10–11, Los Angeles, CA), with Hermanos Gutiérrez opening for many of the dates along with Lake Street Dive and longtime friend, G. Love. The full 2026 itinerary with support is listed below.
A pioneer in tour greening and sustainability, Johnson continues to lead by example and set the gold standard for environmentally conscious touring. At every stop, the tour will spotlight Johnson’s long-standing commitment to sustainability, community, and action. In partnership with REVERB, a leading non-profit engaging musicians and fans to create positive environmental changes at concerts and beyond, the tour will further reduce its footprint while inspiring collective action. The Village Green, a hallmark of his tours, will feature local and national All At Once Non-Profit Partnersfocused on environmental stewardship, plastic-free initiatives, and sustainable local food systems, offering fans meaningful ways to connect and make a difference at every show.

The Smashing Pumpkins Announce Massive ‘The Rats In A Cage Tour’ Celebrating Mellon Collie Anniversary
The Smashing Pumpkins are heading back on the road this fall with a tour built around one of the defining rock albums of the 1990s. The band officially announced “The Rats In A Cage Tour,” a North American arena run celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness.
The tour kicks off Sept. 30 in Columbus, Ohio and runs through November, with stops across the United States and Canada, including a Vancouver date in November. The tour’s name comes from the famous lyric in “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” one of the biggest singles from the landmark double album.
Frontman Billy Corgan said the band has talked about doing a Mellon Collie-focused production for years, but wanted to wait until the timing and concept felt right. This time around, fans are getting something much bigger than a standard anniversary tour.
Each show will feature two separate sets. The first is dedicated entirely to Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness in what the band describes as a theatrical presentation of the album’s music and themes. The second set will pull from nearly four decades of material, mixing major hits, fan favorites, and deeper cuts from albums spanning Gish through 2024’s Aghori Mhori Mei.
The 1995 album remains one of the biggest alternative rock releases of its era. Songs like “1979,” “Tonight, Tonight,” and “Bullet With Butterfly Wings” helped turn the band into arena headliners and defined alternative radio for a generation of fans who suddenly realized that album is now 30 years old. Time is rude sometimes.
The announcement follows a busy stretch for the band and for Corgan himself. Over the past two years, the Pumpkins have revisited Mellon Collie through deluxe reissues, orchestral reinterpretations with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and special live performances. Corgan has even been taking the material overseas with orchestral theater shows backed by a 60-piece orchestra.
Before the arena tour begins, the Pumpkins will return to Lollapalooza this summer for the first time since the festival’s touring era in 1994, marking a major hometown moment for the Chicago band.
Tickets for “The Rats In A Cage Tour” go on sale May 21 at 10 a.m. local time through the band’s official website. Citi and Verizon presales begin May 19, while members of the band’s VIZ CLUB fan community will get access to a special presale on May 20. More information here.
The band will offer VIP packages featuring a pre-show acoustic performance, Q&A session, exclusive merchandise, memorabilia, lounge access, and early merch shopping.
With no opening acts announced so far and two full sets planned each night, the tour is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious live productions the band has attempted in years.
