The 54th annual JUNO Awards lit up Vancouver on March 30, celebrating the best in Canadian music with more than 40 awards handed out over the weekend.

Tate McRae emerged as one of the biggest winners of the night, taking home four JUNO Awards, including the coveted Album of the Year for Think Later. The Calgary-born pop star was among the most-nominated artists this year, solidifying her status as one of Canada’s brightest musical talents.

Several newcomers also had breakthrough moments at the JUNOs. SadBoi and Snotty Nose Rez Kids were among the first-time winners, marking a milestone in their careers. Meanwhile, Lowell, who contributed to Beyoncé’s Grammy-winning Cowboy Carter, won the inaugural award for Songwriter of the Year (Non-Performer).

“Definitely never thought this would happen, I’ve been here eight or nine times and watched a lot of my hits that I wrote get Junos but not moi, so thank you,” Lowell said in her acceptance speech.

Sunday night’s televised broadcast saw Nemahsis take home her second JUNO Award, earning Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year after previously winning Alternative Album of the Year. The night also featured major career honours: Sum 41 was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, while acclaimed producer Boi-1da received the International Achievement Award.

One of the most memorable moments came when Anne Murray, dressed in a sparkling Canada NHL jersey, accepted her Lifetime Achievement Award, further cementing her legacy as one of Canada’s most beloved artists.

The 2025 JUNO Awards proved to be another unforgettable night, celebrating both rising stars and industry icons while highlighting the depth and diversity of Canada’s music scene.
