Calum Scott Brings His ‘Avenoir Tour’ to the Wiltern in Los Angeles
Calum Scott took the Wiltern stage in Los Angeles on April 3rd, 2026, for his Avenoir Tour.
Calum Scott is a British singer-songwriter who first gained attention on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015, where his emotional cover of “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn became a global hit. Known for his powerful vocals and deeply personal songwriting, Scott blends pop with raw, heartfelt storytelling. His music often explores themes of love, identity, and self-acceptance, earning him a dedicated global fanbase and chart success with songs like “You Are The Reason.”
The theatre filled, and by 9 o’clock everyone was ready to dance, laugh, and cry together. The sense of community was in the air as many of the fans related to the vulnerability in Scott‘s music.
He performed a variety of songs from his discography: some new songs and his hits. My favorite moment was his stripped-back set, when he sang “No Matter What,” a song about him coming to terms with who he was. Tears began to fall throughout the crowd. What a meaningful night for music in Los Angeles.

Syd Taylor at The Belasco in Los Angeles
On Tuesday, March 31st, The Belasco in Downtown LA was packed with fans from both near and far. Syd Taylor, an indie-rock artist from Michigan, supported Goldie Boutilier on her North American tour, The King of Possibilities. From February 24th to April 4th, Syd opened for Boutilier at sixteen sold-out shows.
As Syd’s bandmates stepped onto the stage, the crowd erupted with cheers and chants of “Syd, Syd, Syd!” Soon after, Syd Taylor confidently walked across the stage in her stylish outfit, smiling brightly. She kicked off her set with songs from her new album, “After the Fact,” starting with “Love of Your Life,” then “Time to Go,” and “Leave Me Out of It.”
After parting ways with Stereo Jane, a band heavily inspired by ’90s rock—formed by Syd and her twin sister Emilia, known as Mia—Syd felt a strong desire to find her own artistic and personal identity.
Inspired by bands like Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles, Syd finally broke free from external expectations—no longer told which genre to pursue, whom to share her demo with, or how to present herself on stage. As her own producer, songwriter, and guitarist, she spent three months drawing inspiration from her Los Angeles apartment and charting her own creative path. This ultimately led to her releasing her debut album “After the Fact.”
Syd once said that, during the process of making this album, she felt this was “the first time that [she had] been able to sit down and create something for [herself].” Syd had previously felt like she was prioritizing others and wanted to get as far away from that mindset as possible.
To create an album as raw and reflective as “After the Fact,” Syd needed to discover her artistic style. This led her to find confidence in this new era of her career.

Rise Against Deliver a No-Frills, High-Impact Set in Vancouver
Rise Against rolled into the PNE Forum on March 28 with a clear plan: keep things loud, and keep fans on their toes. After more than two decades as a band, the Chicago punk veterans are switching things up on this tour, leaning into smaller rooms and digging deeper into their catalogue instead of relying on a greatest hits autopilot.
The night opened with Speed of Light, 3 siblings who wasted no time setting a fast pace. The set was short and punchy, and got the crowd moving early. Destroy Boys followed with more intensity. Their mix of sharp riffs and blunt, politically charged commentary hit hard. Frontwoman Alexia Roditis led the charge with a mix of chaos and purpose, turning songs like “Shadow (I’m Breaking Down)” into full-on statements.
Rise Against took the stage through smoke and noise, kicking things off with “Re-Education (Through Labor)” From there, it barely let up. “Under The Knife” and “Give It All” had the floor shaking, with the crowd yelling every word back at Tim McIlrath’s face directly from the pit like it was muscle memory. The set balanced fan favourites with newer material from Ricochet, their 2025 release that leans a bit bigger in sound but keeps the same message intact: connection matters, especially right now.
There were a few surprises tucked in, including deeper cuts that don’t always make the setlist. Not every moment was perfectly polished, but that looseness worked in their favour. It felt real. The emotional swing hit during “Hero of War” and “Swing Life Away,” giving the room a breather before ramping back up. By the time “Savior” closed things out, the entire venue was locked in.
Last night, Rise Against built a space where anger, hope, and community all made sense together, and made it loud enough that no one could ignore it.
