Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver
Last night, Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs lit up the Vogue Theatre with a no-frills, all-heart rock show that proved the former Heartbreaker isn’t done writing his story.
Opening the show was Shannon McNally, who won the crowd over with her smoky vocals and easy stage presence. Her cover of Joni Mitchell’s “Cactus Tree” earned a cheer or two.
Mike Campbell, best known as the longtime guitarist and co-writer for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, has played on some of rock’s most enduring songs: “Refugee,” “Runnin’ Down a Dream,” and “You Got Lucky,” to name a few. He’s also worked with Fleetwood Mac, Don Henley, and Bob Dylan, and co-wrote hits like “Boys of Summer.” Since forming The Dirty Knobs in the late 2000s, Campbell has stepped out front with his own material: bluesy, irreverent, and full of heart.
At the Vogue Theatre, Campbell led his band through a mix of Dirty Knobs songs and a few fan-favourites from his Heartbreakers days. He cracked jokes between songs, grinned often, and made it clear he was having a blast. The crowd, a mix of longtime fans and curious first-timers, soaked up every note.

Snail Mail Took Over Le Trabendo in Paris for ‘Ricochet’ Tour
Snail Mail, Lindsay Jordan’s indie rock solo project, took over Le Trabendo in Paris, France on June 23.
As fans slowly made their way to the venue, they were welcomed by the bedroom pop sounds of singer-songwriter Unflirt. The emerging London-based artist, whose real name is Christine Senorin, performed both new and old songs. From her first single “Crush” to a few songs from her album Fleeting, fans were lucky enough to also hear her new unreleased song, “New York.”
At 9pm, it was then time for Snail Mail to hit the stage. Four years since their last headline show in France, fans were so excited to see them again that many braved the heat wave—fittingly also the title of one of the songs performed that evening. By the first song, the venue was crowded and buzzing, and Snail Mail delivered a high-energy show despite the melting heat.
Ricochet, the band’s third album, was released in March of this year, and fans got to hear it in its entirety throughout a carefully crafted setlist. Starting with “Tractor Beam,” Snail Mail performed a mix of songs from their entire discography, from the critically acclaimed single “Valentine” to “Thinning,” the opening track of her debut EP. The night ended with “Pristine,” jokingly called “Paris-tine” for the night.
The Ricochet Tour, started in April in America, is now coming to an end with its last shows in the United Kingdom. Snail Mail will then embark on a co-headline tour with Soccer Mommy across the United States next fall.

Big Boi, Dot Da Genius, Chip Tha Ripper on Kid Cudi’s ‘The Rebel Ragers Tour
Before Kid Cudi took the stage at Rogers Arena on June 19, fans were treated to a stacked lineup of hip-hop veterans and collaborators that set the tone for an energetic night. Big Boi, Dot Da Genius, and Chip Tha Ripper each brought their own style, making the opening portion of The Rebel Ragers Tour feel like an event of its own.
Chip Tha Ripper kicked things off with an easygoing confidence that quickly won over the audience. His chemistry with the crowd and longtime connection to Kid Cudi made his set feel like a natural extension of the night’s theme rather than just an opening performance.
Dot Da Genius followed with a polished set that highlighted his production work and solo material. His atmospheric sound filled Rogers Arena, offering a change of pace that fit naturally within the lineup. Longtime Kid Cudi fans clearly appreciated seeing one of his closest collaborators perform live.
Big Boi closed out the opening acts in commanding fashion. The OutKast legend delivered a confident set packed with charisma and Southern hip-hop classics. His decades of experience showed through every performance, with fans rapping along and dancing from start to finish.
Together, the trio provided an entertaining build-up that had the arena fully energized and ready for Kid Cudi‘s highly anticipated headlining performance.
