Last week, French artist Pomme released “weird” (in English) just before the start of her American tour.

This English track, written during the quarantine, is a musical precursor to her live performances in Mexico, Columbia, and North America, just one month away.

Continuing the emotional journey she started with her latest album Saisons, Pomme invites her fans to another intimate moment with her voice and guitar.

hi english speaking loves,

in 2020 I released a quarantine EP called « quarantine phone sessions » and then took it off from all platforms cause I thought covid would only last a few weeks (lol). it was a way for me to stay creative and write really short, simple, descriptive songs that helped me go through this weird time. when I was a teen, I always wrote in english cause it helped me express the things that I was afraid to tell in french. I tried to find that feeling of playfulness and innocence that we all have when we are kids. one of the songs from the EP called “weird” is out again in the world, as I’m preparing for my first ever headline tour in the US :’) I wanted to give it to you all as a tiny gift, I’m so grateful and excited for this tour.

love you and can’t wait to meet you all, Pomme

Last month, Pomme unveiled the entirety of her fourth album Saisons, conceived as a modern opera, is available in two parts: “autumn/winter” released last December and “spring-summer” is revealed to complete the cycle of Saisons.

She revealed the Saisons, le film: hiver and Saisons, le film: printemps, Saisons, le film: automne short films and the full Saisons short film will be released in July. The song “_dec carte de noël” was co-written with Aaron Dessner (The National, Taylor Swift, Justin Vernon etc).  June stands for the first of three summer tracks that Pomme has chosen to call “perseides”, the famous shower of shooting stars that floods the summer sky.

Consisting of 12 titles, three per season, each echoing a month of the year, the album is an ambitious and orchestral project that aims to surprise, and once again demonstrates the musician’s unique artistic vision. Imagined as a journey beginning with spring, Saisons is an album that can be listened to in one go, and invites you to lie down on a thick carpet and imagine our dream cartoon. This musical continuity is put into images with a 36-minute film, co-directed by Pomme, Hugo Pillard and Nina Richard, soon to be revealed in its entirety.

This new album follows on from A peu près, which made her a household name, Les Failles, certified platinum in France, and consolation gold certified in France, a particularly personal project written during the pandemic between France and Canada. This album Saisons, to be listened to in one go, invites us to lie down on a thick carpet and imagine our dream cartoon. This change of trajectory in Pomme‘s discography resonates with her desire to create a collective gesture within her new pieces, to relinquish total control of the project, collaborating with other artists on composition and production.

The singer-composer thus invites Aaron Dessner (The National) for the winter movement and continues her collaboration with Flavien Berger for the autumn part. On the second half of the opus, “spring-summer”, Pomme is accompanied by an orchestration conducted by MALVINA.

Pomme has won the hearts of an eclectic public, notably through exceptional concert productions, for which she was nominated at the Victoires de la Musique 2024 (the French GRAMMYs) in the Concert of the Year category.
