On April 5th, American pop rock band X Ambassadors kicked off the North American leg of their Townie Tour at the Vogue Theatre in Vancouver, BC.
Indie folk singer-songwriter Noah Gundersen warmed up the crowd with his stunning vocals and beautiful lyrics.
This show was very special for the members of X Ambassadors, brothers Sam Nelson Harris and Casey Harris along with Adam Levin, as it was the release day of their highly anticipated new album Townie. You can stream or purchase it here. Townie marks a compelling new chapter for the band as they return to their upstate New York roots and paint an intricate portrait of their hometown’s most mundane aspects and the community that molded them.
XA started the night with the hit “Renegades” and got the crowd going right away. They followed with “No Strings” from Townie. Throughout the whole show, Sam Harris ran, jumped and danced all over the stage all while belting and hitting high notes. He easily went from a mid-song saxophone interlude to a guitar solo without letting up the energy for a second. Keyboardist Casey Harris, who has been blind since birth, did an amazing job and showcased similar moves to his brother.
In between songs, Sam Harris shared stories and anecdotes about the hometown they grew up in, and how it shaped their lives. They ended the main part of the set with “Unsteady” before the “Jungle” encore.
X Ambassadors didn’t disappoint and made this night a night to remember. They were able to cross an intimate, feel-good show with a rock concert. X Ambassadors is definitely a band you have to see live!
X Ambassadors‘ extensive tour kicked off in Vancouver and features stops in 44 cities across North America, including New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Seattle, Austin and more, including a sold-out stop in their hometown of Ithaca.
