NLL Vancouver Warriors vs Buffalo Bandits Recap & Photos

Published

on

The Vancouver Warriors’ historic season came to a close Saturday night at Rogers Arena, ending with a hard-fought 11-9 loss to the Buffalo Bandits in Game 2 of the NLL semifinals.

In front of a hometown crowd, the Warriors went toe-to-toe with the reigning two-time champs, matching their energy through three tight quarters. A four-goal third gave Vancouver a spark, but Buffalo answered back with four of their own in the fourth and shut the door.

Vancouver was edged on the shot clock 41-38, and despite a strong push late, couldn’t bridge the gap. Adam Charalambides led Vancouver’s offense with a monster seven-point night (3 goals, 4 assists). Keegan Bal and Marcus Klarich each chipped in five-point performances (2G, 3A), while Kevin Crowley and Riley Loewen added singles. Alec Stathakis was solid at the dot, winning 15 of 24 faceoffs. Christian Del Bianco made 30 saves in the loss.

This was the Warriors’ first-ever trip to the playoffs, and their first time reaching the semifinals. It was a major step forward for a franchise still building its identity.

With the loss, Vancouver’s season ends here. The Bandits move on to the NLL Finals, where they’ll face the winner of Halifax vs. Saskatchewan.

Big year for the Warriors. Tough ending, but the future looks promising.

NBA G League – Long Island Nets vs Wisconsin Herd

Long Island Nets closed out their two-game set in Laval with a 121–112 win over the Wisconsin Herd on Friday night in front of a sold-out crowd of 6,201 fans at Place Bell. After a slow start that had them trailing after the first quarter, the Nets found their rhythm in the second, cutting down on mistakes and taking control before halftime. That stretch helped them carry a narrow lead into the break and set up a more confident second half.

Malachi Smith led the way with a standout performance, scoring a career-high 36 points while also adding nine assists. He was efficient throughout the game and consistently created good looks, both for himself and his teammates. Nate Williams and Tre Scott provided solid support on both ends, and Long Island benefited from balanced scoring overall, with several players contributing at key moments.

The game remained competitive into the fourth quarter, but Long Island pulled away with a late run to seal the win. The Nets shot well as a team and did most of their damage inside, which made the difference down the stretch. It was a steady, well-rounded performance and a positive way for Long Island to wrap up its trip to Laval before returning home.

Nitro Circus Sends Vancouver Sky-High on the Off The Rails Tour

Nitro Circus

Nitro Circus rolled into Rogers Arena on December 18 with its Off The Rails World Tour and turned downtown Vancouver into a full-blown loud and wild stunt circus.

The show leaned hard into the “how are humans doing this?” feeling. FMX, BMX, skate, scooter, and custom-built contraptions flew off massive ramps all night. The Giganta Ramp dominated the floor, sending riders sky-high with flips that made the crowd gasp first, then scream.

Nitro Circus knows its audience. This felt built for all ages with pyro blasting and music thumping. It never dragged and families around the arena stayed locked in from start to finish.

A playful rivalry ran through the night between Canadian and American athletes. The Canadians took the win, and Rogers Arena made sure everyone knew it.

The Ring of Fire segment landed as one of the night’s biggest moments. Riders launched through flames on contraptions that looked held together by hope and bravery. Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham joined that chaos and owned it.

The finale sealed the deal with FMX rider Ben Richards stomping a double backflip that snapped me back to Carey Hart’s historic “first backflip ever” moment at the Gravity Games in 2000.

Nitro Circus delivered exactly what it promised: big tricks, big noise, big smiles. If this tour comes back, grab tickets fast and bring kids and friends. Just make sure you don’t blink!
