NSL Vancouver Rise FC vs Halifax Tides FC – Recap & Photos

A second-half goal from defender Jasmyne Spencer was the difference Monday night as Vancouver Rise FC edged out Halifax Tides FC 1-0 at Swangard Stadium in Northern Super League action.

Spencer struck in the 53rd minute, finishing the Rise‘s best spell of pressure and sealing their second win of the season. Vancouver improves to 2-1, while Halifax remains winless at 0-2.

The Rise dictated the pace of the game, holding 58% possession and outshooting the visitors 9-6. Shots on target were limited—just two for Vancouver and one for Halifax—but Vancouver made theirs count. Keeper Morgan McAslan picked up the clean sheet.

Vancouver forced 11 corners on the night and were clearly the more aggressive side going forward. Halifax struggled to get into rhythm and picked up three of the match’s four yellow cards.

Vancouver heads to Ontario this weekend for a clash against AFC Toronto on Sunday
