grentperez at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver
On Saturday night, Filipino-Australian singer and songwriter grentperez brought a whole lot of heart and charm to Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre with his Backflips In A Restaurant Tour. The Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter played to a packed house on June 7, with a warm, breezy set that made the big room feel intimate.
Opener Rocco was a pleasant surprise for many. His indie pop sound paired well with his smooth vocals and sweet, romantic energy. “Only Boy” earned the loudest cheers of his set and got everyone out of their seats.
grentperez followed with the same laid-back magnetism that’s made him a rising star online and off. His vocals were soft but strong, wrapping around lyrics. A standout moment came during “Yours to Keep,” when he brought a couple onstage to watch the show from a candlelit dinner table (yes, an actual table was rolled out as part of his “g’s Bar & Grill” stage setup). It was a bit cheesy, but really adorable.
grentperez’s set was warm, honest, and memorable, just like his music.

Goose Brings their ‘Summer Tour’ to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver
Goose brought their 2026 Summer Tour to Vancouver on Tuesday night, turning the Commodore Ballroom into a sweaty, late-night dance party that stretched well past 11 p.m.
The Connecticut-based quartet — Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, Trevor Weekz and drummer Cotter Ellis — has built a reputation for letting songs breathe onstage, and Vancouver got the full treatment. The band played two sets and an encore, giving the crowd plenty of room to settle into the grooves and watch the songs take unexpected turns.
The first set opened with “Yeti” before moving through “All I Need,” “Turbulence & The Night Rays” and “Time to Flee.” “Everything Must Go” kept things moving before “Hungersite” closed the set with one of the night’s bigger stretches of improvisation.
After a break, Goose returned and launched into “Electric Avenue,” a crowd-pleasing choice that had the Commodore singing along.
There was little interest in rushing through the evening. Goose gave each section space, moving from tight grooves to loose instrumental passages without making the show feel like a collection of extended solos.
For a band coming off a European run and heading into some of its biggest U.S. shows, Vancouver felt like another strong stop on the way. The Commodore may be a much smaller room than Madison Square Garden or SPAC, but Goose seemed perfectly happy to stretch out inside it.

Chance The Rapper Brings ‘Coloring Book 10 Year Anniversary Tour’ to Montreal at MTelus
After 10 years since its release, Chance the Rapper is back on tour to celebrate his album Coloring Book! With Montreal being the 4th stop on the tour, many fans packed into Montreal’s MTELUS on August 15th, 2026, with no idea of what to expect.
First, the audience was thrilled by an energetic and upbeat performance by opener La Reezy. His quick lyrics and heavy instrumentals had no trouble in setting the tone for the night, specifically during “Gold Chains,” and with stellar crowd engagement during “We Live.”
Then, Chance the Rapper took the stage! With Coloring Book being such a staple in 2016, especially in the rap community, it is a daunting task to bring that nostalgic energy back on stage. But, with a 24-song setlist, Chance does just that. Unsurprisingly, half the setlist features songs from Coloring Book, with the set opening with “All We Got,” and closing with “Same Drugs,” featuring a confetti-filled performance of “No Problem” in the middle. However, Chance doesn’t shy away from performing a few hits from his other albums as well, such as “Link Me In The Future” from STAR LINE, and some older work in Acid Rap.
Overall, there is something powerful about hearing these songs a decade later. The themes stay the same, yet as both the artist and audience grow, there’s new meanings and emotions to be found in the lyrics. The anniversary show felt like a reunion for those who grew up with Coloring Book, and that’s what ultimately makes this tour a success.
