Remy Bond’s ‘Star Shaped Baby’ Tour Lights Up Hollywood

Friday, June 27th, The El Rey Theatre, located in Hollywood, California, was packed with fans. Dressed from head to toe in vintage tropical clothing. The artist, New York native Remy Bond, had requested that her fans arrive wearing ‘Carmen Miranda’-themed attire.
After performing fourteen back-to-back shows, it is safe to say that Remy Bond was booked and busy throughout June as she toured North America for her ‘The Star Shaped Baby‘ tour.
Joining Bond on the North American leg of her tour was none other than up-and-coming indie/alternative artist Mila Degray. She helped kick off the evening with some of her hit singles, such as “Adore Her More,” “Skinny Brittle Bones,” and “Purple Ribbon.” Her set list showed raw authenticity as she poured her heart and soul out onto the stage. In between songs, Mila shared that “[The El Rey Theatre] is the biggest venue that [she] has performed at.”
While taking a moment to connect with the crowd, Degray shared some of the things that she has struggled with from her past relationships. She was vulnerable and shared how songwriting has helped her understand her feelings and has been an outlet for her.
As the lights began to dim, a beautiful woman dressed in a bedazzled trench coat took the stage. As the performance progressed, the performer revealed that this was a burlesque performance, lip-singing a song while stripping away layers of her clothing to reveal her stunning, sparkling lingerie.
As Remy Bond took the stage, she popped out of a large, three-tier cake singing her 2024 single, “Star Shaped Baby.” Bond‘s unique style set the tone for the night as she showcased her iconic 1950s vintage Hawaiian pinup girl aesthetic. With a mix of vintage aesthetics and dreamful imagery, Remy‘s mesmerizing, angelic voice lured the audience into a trance and transported them back in time.
While this was Remy Bond‘s last show in North America, she is off to Europe for the rest of her Star Shaped Baby tour.
