PWHL – Montreal Victoire Win Over Toronto Sceptres In Vancouver

Marie-Philip Poulin delivered a highlight-reel-worthy goal and sealed the game with an empty-netter as the Montreal Victoire secured a 4-2 victory over the Toronto Sceptres on Wednesday night. The game, part of the PWHL Takeover Tour, drew a packed house of 19,038 fans at Rogers Arena.
Poulin’s show-stopping moment came at 7:48 of the second period when, while down on both knees, she maintained control of the puck and rifled a shot past Toronto netminder Kristen Campbell, tucking it neatly into the top right corner. Her momentum sent her sprawling across the ice as the puck found the back of the net, an effort that had the crowd on its feet.
Mikyla Grant-Mentis contributed a goal and an assist, Claire Dalton found the scoresheet, and Ann-Renée Desbiens stood tall with 29 saves for the Victoire, who continue to lead the league standings.
Toronto put up a fight in the third period, with Jesse Compher and Daryl Watts finding the net, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Montreal’s strong start. Campbell finished the night with 21 saves for the Sceptres, who remain at the bottom of the standings.
The electric atmosphere inside Rogers Arena wasn’t just about the action on the ice—the attendance of 19,038 surpassed the Vancouver Canucks’ highest turnout of the season (18,940), underscoring the growing excitement for professional women’s hockey.
The matchup was the second of nine scheduled stops on the PWHL Takeover Tour, which continues to showcase the league’s talent in front of enthusiastic crowds across North America.
