Snoop Dogg’s Vancouver Performance Kicks Off The BC Lions Season With Style

To open their 2025 CFL season, the BC Lions brought in none other than the Doggfather himself for a high-energy, 35-minute pregame concert that turned BC Place into something closer to a West Coast festival than a football stadium. It was loud, joyful, and totally unforgettable.
Wearing a custom BC Lions jersey with his name and the number 20 on the back, Snoop Dogg stepped onto the field to a thunderous welcome. With a grin that never left his face, he launched into a string of hits that spanned decades of hip-hop history. “Gin and Juice,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “What’s My Name?” and “P.I.M.P.” all made the cut, along with featured tracks, like Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.”
From the opening beat, Snoop had the crowd in his pocket. It felt like he invited 50,000 people to his personal party. The atmosphere was infectious, fans were waving, shouting lyrics, and moving in sync from the field to the far reaches of the upper bowl.
And then came the cash cannon.
In a moment that was equal parts hilarious and surreal, Snoop blasted out handfuls of “Snoop Dollars” into the crowd, sending fans scrambling across the field to grab them like prized collectibles. It was chaotic, and very on brand.
Toward the end, Snoop added one final surprise, autographed footballs were tossed into the crowd. He signed them on stage, pointing to fans, and launching them with quarterback precision. One ball soared all the way to the upper deck, drawing wild cheers from the stands.
Big name concerts have become tradition for the Lions’ home opener, following last year’s kickoff performance by 50 Cent. Snoop took that baton and ran with it, blending music, humour, and sports into a single high-voltage opener.
By the time the BC Lions rolled over the Edmonton Elks with a 31 to 14 win, the tone had already been set. This wasn’t just the start of a football season. It was a party for 53,788 fans, and Snoop Dogg was the perfect host.
