Trivium Brings The STRUCK DEAD Tour To Winnipeg

On November 22, Trivium brought The STRUCK DEAD Tour to Winnipeg’s Burton Cummings Theatre, delivering a night of relentless energy. The lineup was stacked, featuring Heriot from England and Ukraine’s powerhouse Jinjer, both proving why they’re at the top of their game.
Heriot kicked things off with a set packed with intensity. Opening with “Foul Void” and moving into “Commander of Pain,” the band kept the crowd fully locked in with tracks like “Demure” and “At the Fortress Gate.” Fans soaked it all in, heads banging and memories in the making.
Next up was Jinjer, who wasted no time stirring the mosh pit. They launched into “Duel,” followed by “Teacher Teacher,” “Rouge,” and “Perennial.” Their set closed with the fan-favourite “Pieces,” with the entire theatre singing along. Jinjer delivered a performance that perfectly balanced technical mastery with raw, infectious energy.
Then came Trivium, whose set felt like a masterclass in modern metal. Opening with “In Waves,” they tore through hits like “The Heart From Your Hate,” “Until the World Goes Down,” and “Bury Me With My Screams.” Mid-set, the band surprised the crowd with a birthday cake for guitarist Corey Beaulieu, prompting the packed theatre to erupt into a heartfelt “Happy Birthday.”
During the celebration, Matt Heafy (vocals/guitar) paused to reflect on the band’s journey. “We’ve been playing together since 2003,” he said, before sharing a chaotic but unforgettable story from their early days, Corey being the only one to show up for trial sessions with long hair, beaded necklace, and a Cradle of Filth Midian shirt completing the look. The crowd laughed and applauded before Trivium dove back into the relentless force of their set.
The STRUCK DEAD Tour left Winnipeg fans with blistering riffs, birthday celebrations, and a reminder of why Trivium remains one of metal’s most enduring and beloved acts.
