NSL Vancouver Rise FC vs Calgary Wild FC

Vancouver Rise FC and Calgary Wild FC played to a fast-paced 1–1 draw on Saturday at Swangard Stadium in Northern Super League action.
The Rise, coming off a midweek win over Halifax, stuck with the same lineup and struck early. In the 12th minute, Holly Ward danced past two defenders on the left wing and teed up Mariah Lee, who fired in her second goal of the season with a low finish to the far post.
But Calgary hit back almost immediately. Five minutes later, Kahli Johnson unleashed a rocket from distance that beat Morgan McAslan cleanly to tie things up.
From there, the game opened up. Calgary pressed hard, forcing McAslan into several key saves, including a huge double stop in the first half. Johnson continued to be a menace, carving through Vancouver’s backline and coming close to a second after the break.
Calgary nearly stole it when substitute Taegan Stewart broke loose and hit the crossbar. At the other end, Vancouver had their moment too. Ward found space on a breakaway in the final minutes but hit the post.
The draw moves Vancouver to the top of the table with 11 points, while Calgary sits fourth. Both teams had chances to win it, but in the end, they split the points after a game that never let up.
Vancouver heads east next to face Montreal Roses FC on June 7 in a key matchup at the top of the table.
