Alex Porat at Bar Le Ritz in Montreal
On October 9th, 2025, the Toronto-based pop artist, Alex Porat, took the stage at Bar Le Ritz in Montreal on the second stop of her CRUSHED! Tour.
Following an energetic opening performance by Montrealer Claudia Bouvette, which had fans riled up and cheering, Porat opened with her popular hit, “Teardrop.”
The night was full of dancing and singing, and as the 18-song setlist continued, Alex Porat took the time to thank fans for coming, collect a few gifts, and share little moments about writing her EP: Crushed. She also took the time to say that Montreal was her loudest show yet, and the city’s crowd always is every time she performs here!
Porat’s career began through her covers that took off on YouTube, so fans were delighted for her to bring back one of her most popular covers, “Hopelessly Devoted to You” by Olivia Newton-John, as well as a cover of “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter later in the set.
The night was a wonderful mix of energetic music and slow, melodic songs, ranging from “Miss Sick World,” played slowly on the guitar, to “Face like Yours,” which was much more upbeat.
After performing an encore of “Better Than That,” and her most popular song “HATELOVE,” Alex Porat thanked the crowd for the wonderful night and left the stage, taking the time to meet fans afterwards at her merch booth.

Calum Scott Brings His ‘Avenoir Tour’ to the Wiltern in Los Angeles
Calum Scott took the Wiltern stage in Los Angeles on April 3rd, 2026, for his Avenoir Tour.
Calum Scott is a British singer-songwriter who first gained attention on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015, where his emotional cover of “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn became a global hit. Known for his powerful vocals and deeply personal songwriting, Scott blends pop with raw, heartfelt storytelling. His music often explores themes of love, identity, and self-acceptance, earning him a dedicated global fanbase and chart success with songs like “You Are The Reason.”
The theatre filled, and by 9 o’clock everyone was ready to dance, laugh, and cry together. The sense of community was in the air as many of the fans related to the vulnerability in Scott‘s music.
He performed a variety of songs from his discography: some new songs and his hits. My favorite moment was his stripped-back set, when he sang “No Matter What,” a song about him coming to terms with who he was. Tears began to fall throughout the crowd. What a meaningful night for music in Los Angeles.

Syd Taylor at The Belasco in Los Angeles
On Tuesday, March 31st, The Belasco in Downtown LA was packed with fans from both near and far. Syd Taylor, an indie-rock artist from Michigan, supported Goldie Boutilier on her North American tour, The King of Possibilities. From February 24th to April 4th, Syd opened for Boutilier at sixteen sold-out shows.
As Syd’s bandmates stepped onto the stage, the crowd erupted with cheers and chants of “Syd, Syd, Syd!” Soon after, Syd Taylor confidently walked across the stage in her stylish outfit, smiling brightly. She kicked off her set with songs from her new album, “After the Fact,” starting with “Love of Your Life,” then “Time to Go,” and “Leave Me Out of It.”
After parting ways with Stereo Jane, a band heavily inspired by ’90s rock—formed by Syd and her twin sister Emilia, known as Mia—Syd felt a strong desire to find her own artistic and personal identity.
Inspired by bands like Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles, Syd finally broke free from external expectations—no longer told which genre to pursue, whom to share her demo with, or how to present herself on stage. As her own producer, songwriter, and guitarist, she spent three months drawing inspiration from her Los Angeles apartment and charting her own creative path. This ultimately led to her releasing her debut album “After the Fact.”
Syd once said that, during the process of making this album, she felt this was “the first time that [she had] been able to sit down and create something for [herself].” Syd had previously felt like she was prioritizing others and wanted to get as far away from that mindset as possible.
To create an album as raw and reflective as “After the Fact,” Syd needed to discover her artistic style. This led her to find confidence in this new era of her career.
